Software developer

Maciej Mieńko

Usually Maxie online.

I build software, from developer tools to games. Understanding the mechanism is often the part I enjoy most.

What draws me in

I build developer tools and local infrastructure, but I also make games, explore unusual platforms, and try ideas that do not fit neatly into one specialty.

Pokémon and RPG Maker XP got me into programming. Making something interactive gave me a reason to look behind the screen and find out how it worked. That curiosity still shapes the problems I choose.

The common thread is wanting to understand the mechanism and solve a real problem. Sometimes that means taking an idea all the way to production. Sometimes it means an experiment that answers the question I started with.

Beyond the code

I like taking arguments apart: what follows from the evidence, what depends on an assumption, and where certainty runs ahead of what we know. Logic and probability help me think about those gaps. A convincing explanation is a starting point; I want to understand what would make it wrong, too.

In a good discussion, I can question an idea and leave with a different view of it. I care about getting closer to an answer that holds up, including knowing where it is still uncertain. That takes listening as much as arguing.

Away from code, I spend time with games, films, and animation. I am drawn to things with a distinct character: a world that feels worth returning to, an unusual idea, or a particular sense of humor. I like the precision of pixel art and the warmth of a cozy game. Bright colors and small, thoughtful details can make something simple feel personal.

Working with other people

I can take responsibility for a project from idea to production. I enjoy the breadth of that work, including the parts outside my usual tools.

I also value people who question ideas and listen to the answer. Good arguments, cooperation, and sensible compromises matter to me. Working independently does not mean wanting to work alone.
